POPPOSITIONS - Brussels

During its participation at the 5th edition of POPPOSITIONS, , Le Cube presents frontières fluides – fluid boundaries of Mohammed Laouli and Katrin Ströbel.

This project that was initiated during a residency at Le Cube sheds light on the movements of migration and transits between Europe and North Africa. It invites to analyze the cultural, social and economic impacts of colonialism and migration policies on plural and current contexts.

Designed as an alternative to art fairs, POPPOSITIONS suggests, for its 5th edition, projects that question the problem of the wrong side and invites Le Cube to take part in the event.
The notion of the wrong side can refer to the art market, but mainly, it is linked to the socio-geopolitical situation of the world. In times of crisis, the notion of boundaries becomes controversial and raises many questions. What does it mean and what does it actually imply to belong to the good or the bad side – of History, of modernity, of economy? Who gets to decide what is good and what is bad ? And can we draw visible or subtle borders to separate them ? For what consequences?
