During the evening event, Amber Eve Anderson presents her work which treats the notions of space and orientations. In an attempt to give meaning to movement and fragmentation. she has experienced these fragmentations since her departure from the United States, to live in Peru, Syria, and Morocco.

Amber Eve Anderson is from Nebraska. It has been more than 10 years that she is living between South America and the Middle East. Her work is an attempt to explore her history by making collections of images, photographs of families and objects. Using these collections, she enchains poetic narratives that embody the desire inherent in displacement, in the state of in-between; the desire which makes us feel both at home and nowhere.

She addresses the dichotomy between the emptiness and distance of “placelessness”, and the comfort and security of home. These investigations highlight rapidly changing conceptions of home and the reality of modern experience. The resulting works come in the shape of fibers, sculptures, photographs, installations and videos. The link between her different projects is a sense of longing and loss.

The presentation of the work is followed by a discussion between the artist and the public.
