Sido Lansari

It is a strange alchemy to change the cum into gold.
Hélène Hazera in À voix nue by Céline du Chéné – France Culture

Sido Lansari’s work is direct.
Through canvas embroidered with a salacious, and sometimes raw vocabulary, he approaches sexuality in terms and images freed from all Puritan morals, breaking down any gender stereotype related to embroidery.

Falsely light and impertinent, he questions a complexed sexuality and tests the limits by taking inspiration from his surrounding: a spoken word from a conversation or heard on the radio, an excerpt from a rap song or a movie phrase.

Sido Lansari was born in 1988 in Casablanca, Morocco. He workes as a communication officer at the Biennale de la Danse and the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Lyon, France. In 2013, he begins his first creative project Papa suce et Maman coud.
