Maria Iñigo Clavo

María Iñigo Clavo holds a PhD in Fine Arts, lecturer of arts at Open University of Catalonia.

Her research focuses on understanding power colonial relationships, the construction of otherness, disciplinary desencounters, untranslatability, emotions and representation of (national) Gistory in Museum and Gallery Studies in Europe and Latin America with special attention in Brazil.

She has been living between Brazil, Uk and Spain in the last decade, linked to research projects at University of Essex and University of the Arts London and University of Sao Paulo, where she was teaching also.  S

he was Co- founder of the independent research group Peninsula, Colonial processes and artistic and curatorial practices in collaboration with Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.

She has collaborated with a variety of publications, such as e-flux journal, Stedelijk Museum, Mela* Project, Afterall journal, Versión/sur, Concinnitas, Revista de Occidente, Bilboquet, Re-visione and others.
She edited the Magazine Re-visiones responding to the question: Is It Possible to Decolonize Western Methodologies? The South as a Driving Force.
