Leila Sadel

Leila Sadel in born in 1985 in Casablanca, she lives and works in Bègles.

“My artistic journey is punctuated by moments of element collecting (images, texts, sounds, objects) that impose on me a time for observation, and appropriation of the context where I am. In my work, elements of the past and present intertwine to give shape to “something else”. The articulation of these singular elements borrowed from the daily life are then used to create situations favorable to the emergence of fictions, the construction of narratives.

My work consists of multiple interventions, ranging from arrangement to confrontation, but also touching upon the formatting of the collected elements. I make small displacements, shifts of meanings that interact with the mental images of the spectator and which suggest, in the form of photographs, installations, drawings or videos, and unique moments.”
