Hassan Echair

Hassan Echair was born in Rommani, Morocco. He settled in Tetouan after he finished his studies in fine arts in Morocco and then in France.

His work consists of drawings, sculptures and installations. With a minimalist, delicate and fragile attention, Hassan Echair suggests a series of reflections on constrictions, memory, environment, displacement, accumulated energies, inhabited spaces, mental spaces, minimal means, freedom as well as identity, time and its measurement.

At the same time, he contributes at many artistic projects of the Institut National des Beaux-arts of Tetouan, during several artistic manifestations like the Bandimages Festival in Bourges and the video festival in Casablanca, the nueva escuela de Tetuan in Cuenca, Spain.

Since 1998, he exhibits regularly in Morocco, in France, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Lebanon, Mali, Tunisia and the United States.
